We’d been sitting there for over an hour.
I was captivated by the waves chasing each other to the shore.
He seemed to be captivated by me.
We’d been friends for over 13 years. He said he didn’t like me like that. I think he believed it more than I did.
But I found the frequent stares confusing. Today was no different.
I don’t know how the thought made it out of my mind and into my mouth,
“I know you don’t like me, but I would really appreciate it if you didn’t leave a hole in my face.”
He chocked, blushing a cute shade of beet.
