Last Words

She’d spent 4 years of her life with him. She’d just said good bye to him;

“Take care of you for me. And if you don’t find what you need, come back to me. But don’t take too long. A girl can only wait so long.”

She watched him check-in and disappear behind the glass doors. She knew it may be the last time she ever sees him. Yet, deep in her heart, a little candle flickered, and she hoped he’d come back.

She walked back home aimlessly. She walked past her gate. With him gone, she could no longer recognize home.
