Thoughts in Motion

Since I hit a slump, a series I enjoyed writing very much also came to a halt. All I have now are just thoughts I have during the day. Some are crazy but there are some good ones too, deeeeeeeeep down inside {hehehe}. I thought maybe if I write even the simplest things such as thoughts, just maybe I can work myself out of this writing slump and onto a road to recovery.

For those who don’t know, I am Sabbath keeping Christian. And this past weekend, I heard a statement I found to be rather profound. Paraphrased, it said that sins main objective – Satan, the originator of sin, his objective was to kill God. If you don’t believe that, look at the cross.

It was quite unfortunate that pride, being the first sin and root of all sin, required One equal to God to die. Jesus Christ, being One with God, left all the glory and beauty of heaven, took upon Himself sinful flesh just so to save the world from the great deceiver, the father of lies, Satan.

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

  • Philippians 2:5-8

All these thoughts brought back a quote I read a while ago, of how Jesus Christ would have come to Earth and died still, even if there was just one sinner in all the world. That is how personal the Gospel is to be. For you, just like God stops painting rainbows and sharpening thunder bolts (I am not too sure what God does in His time, when He is not holding the universe together and keeping things like gravity in check) when we utter words to heaven. He listens to me and you when we pray, as if we were the only people in the universe. And I imagine He looks forward to hearing us pray, talk to Him as a Friend.

Just one quote changed my perspective of the Cross, and I saw it as if I was seeing it for the first time. Christ Jesus, hanging, for my sins. The sins of the past, the present and the future. Having taken upon Himself flesh to make Himself like me, hung on the cross as the searing pain probably crippled God as He had to turn away from His one and only Son being pierced and speared.

And then lose His life to save Me.
From Myself.
Me, a broken jar of clay.

Such love, That Will Not Let Me Go.  This song has basically been a soundtrack to my thoughts. I hope someone out there needs the reminder more than I do. Or else, sharing wouldn’t be caring, in this case.

Blessed Monday!
