Miss Me

I don’t know what it is you liked about me
Maybe it was my smile or my pearly eyes,
My tiny toes or my weird laugh.
But whatever it was,
I hope you miss me a bit when I’m gone.

When the furniture is broken and the love is
When the bad and worse has been said,
All the bad and horrible is done,
Regardless of the outcome,
I hope you miss me a bit when I’m gone.

When all the tears have fallen and have dried up,
When the nightmares have taken their leave and all the pain is gone.
No matter the situation,
I hope you miss me a bit when I’m gone.

And when one of us runs away and crosses the oceans.
When the memories become a figment of my imagination
And our dreams have seized their existence.
No matter the distance,
I hope that you miss me a bit when I’m gone.

When all the long night chats are dead and gone.
When all the mental pictures have faded away
And our albums have become ashes.
No matter the situation,
I just hope you miss me more when I’m gone.
